Most of the time we use an image sequence-based format, so each frame is a single image and renders aren't fucked up. If any of your machines outputs a corrupt frame, or the networks craps out, your whole encode is lost.

It looks like Handbrake just doesn't take advantage of Zen 2 / high core count CPUs very well. With what I think are similar settings, I am processing at over 300 fps and completing in 6 minutes, using 100 CPU.
